Cimmetry Systems Releases AutoVue 19

Setting the standard for collaborative visualization (September 26, 2005)

Cimmetry Systems Corporation, an Agile Software Corporation company, today announced the immediate availability of AutoVue version 19. This feature-packed release expands AutoVues position as the collaborative visualization leader for the industrial, automotive, aerospace and defense, electronics and high tech, medical device, and AEC markets.

"In the latest release of AutoVue 19, Cimmetry continues to extend its competitive advantage with an advanced architecture that accesses native files for CAD geometry, object level attributes, and product structure, said Ken Versprille, Ph.D., Principle and PLM Research Director of Collaborative Product Development Associates, LLC (CPDA). ?AutoVue's powerful new 3D assembly comparison and search capabilities, as well as ECAD usability enhancements, target the needs of engineering intensive industries, including automotive, aerospace, AEC, and high tech."

AutoVues comprehensive collaborative visualization solution provides all users, regardless of role in the organization or geographic location, with the ability to natively view and markup multi-format document data. AutoVues strength lies in its ability to integrate seamlessly with multiple enterprise systems of record to provide secure and reliable collaborative visualization.

Extending the Lead in MCAD Collaborative Visualization
As manufactured goods become increasingly complex, AutoVues new capabilities in 3D exploded view manipulation, assembly comparison and advanced search provide process planners, illustrators, shop personnel and designers with powerful yet easy-to-use tools to view and collaborate on product information faster and more efficiently. Manufacturing information including dimensional constraints, geometric tolerances, process notes and work instructions can also be read from or captured with the model to drive elimination of paper-based processes on the shop floor.

AutoVues unique 3D compare functionality goes beyond simple graphical evaluation, enabling users to detect non-graphical file properties at the assembly or part level. Dynamic assembly explosion and advanced search functionality deliver component results quickly and reliably. With AutoVue 19, users at all levels of design expertise have the ability to drill down to critical MCAD design attributes from a single interface.

High Tech Manufacturing
Full collaborative visualization support has been added in this release for several key manufacturing formats including Gerber, ODB++ and EDIF, offering high tech companies with outsourced manufacturing the same capabilities as design teams.

New minimum distance measurement tools, improved board entity viewing functionality and multi-page BOM generation capabilities further enhance EDA usability, improving the experience of electronics designers, testers and contract manufacturers.

?With this release, Cimmetry extends its product leadership by providing unsurpassed engineering and desktop format support coupled with ready-made integration capability for widely used PLM, ERP and document management systems, said Paul Giaconia, President of Cimmetry Systems. ?The result is a single, cost-effective solution for our customers that eliminates the proliferation of tools required to support hundreds of document types, is easy to deploy and learn, and fits into the existing enterprise IT solutions common in our customers industries.

?Visualization is an essential part of the Synergis Adept data management solution, said Joseph T. Gasper, director of Adept Technical Services at Synergis Software. ?Cimmetry continues to add value to Adept with its support of the most popular CAD and non-CAD file formats, while adding new features such as 3D compare and explode, which provide our customers tremendous functionality.

?AutoVue 19 support for both AutoCAD 2006 and MicroStation v8 on the CAD side and Acrobat 7 on the office side, is exactly what customers have been asking us for, said Lloyd Charlier, Chief Executive Officer at SpatiaX Infosystems. ?Armed with this broadened coverage, SpatiaXs DMS-enabled collaboration solution, sxMARKUP-Web, can better address the needs of our existing and prospective customers.
